We’re excited to announce the release of ShaunSocial 1.5.4, bringing one of our biggest feature updates yet! This release introduces the brand-new Events Plugin, a powerful Plugin Manager, Marketplace enhancements, Referral Dashboard improvements, and numerous bug fixes and usability improvements to make managing your community even easier.

Events Plugin

The long-awaited Events Plugin is now available!

Create engaging online or offline events and allow members to discover, join, and interact with events directly from your community.

Key features include:

• Create public or private or group events
• Event location support
• RSVP management
• Event discussions
• Event photo uploads
• Member invitations
• Mobile app compatible (will be added into app 1.5.4)

Plugin Manager (AdminCP)

Managing ShaunSocial plugins is now easier than ever.

The new Plugin Manager allows administrators to:

• Upload and install paid plugins directly from AdminCP
• Enable or disable installed plugins
• Uninstall plugins when no longer needed
• View plugin information and version details
• Simplify plugin management without manual file uploads

This is the first version of our new plugin management system, with more enhancements planned for future releases

Referral Dashboard

The Invite page now includes a dedicated Referral Dashboard.

Members can easily track:

• Total referrals
• Referral earnings
• Successful conversions

Currently supported referral rewards include:

• Membership upgrades
• Featured Business Pages
• Featured Marketplace Listings

❤️ Real-Time Chat Like

Members can now quickly react to chat messages with a Like icon.

Features include:

• Real-time message reactions
• Instant updates for both participants
• Improved chat engagement

Marketplace Improvements

Marketplace continues to receive major enhancements.

Feature Listings

Members can now promote their listings by featuring them.

Supported payment methods:

• Stripe
• PayPal

This makes it easier for sellers to increase the visibility of their listings.

Default Avatar by Gender

Administrators can now configure different default profile avatars based on gender.

Location:

AdminCP → Users -> Manage genders

Benefits:

• Better user experience
• More personalized default profiles

Feature Business Pages

Administrators can now feature business pages directly from AdminCP.

This provides a simple way to promote selected pages without requiring payment.

Country Management Improvements

Managing countries is now much more efficient.

Administrators can:

• Enable multiple countries at once
• Disable multiple countries
• Delete multiple countries

using bulk actions inside AdminCP.

Bug Fixes

We’ve fixed several issues reported by our community, including:

• Fixed language switching issue where users couldn’t switch back after changing languages.
• Fixed “Package not found” error when subscribing to a profile.
• Fixed Marketplace issue where listing owners couldn’t edit or delete their own listings.
• Fixed Marketplace pricing issue where discounts could be added automatically.
• Fixed calendar localization issue where calendars remained in English after changing the site language.
• Fixed verification code generation issue where some verification codes contained only 5 digits instead of the required 6 digits.
• General stability improvements and minor UI refinements.

• New versions are available to download at client area
• Mobile apps are not fully compatible with version 1.5.4 yet but it will work but the new features from 1.54 will not show on apps.

DO NOT upgrade your live site and app until you have a full backup of your site’s files, database and have successfully performed a test upgrade on your development (test) site first.
