ShaunSocial 1.5.6 Roadmap – New Features & Improvements

We’re excited to share the main features planned for ShaunSocial 1.5.6!

This upcoming update focuses on improving security, user experience, platform design, and community moderation.

Planned Features

Upgrade the ShaunSocial backend to Laravel 13, helping keep the platform aligned with the latest framework improvements.

We plan to improve Android and iOS system back behavior for post modals on mobile web, if technically feasible.

The goal is to provide a smoother and more natural navigation experience when members open and close post modals.

A brand-new default theme is planned for ShaunSocial, bringing a refreshed visual experience and updated platform design.

Introduce Passkey Authentication as a modern alternative to traditional passwords.

Passkeys allow members to log in using supported device authentication methods, such as:

This can provide a more convenient and secure login experience.

A new centralized Moderation Center to help administrators and moderators manage reports across the platform.

Instead of relying only on permanent bans, moderators should be able to issue warnings and temporary restrictions.
